About

Imran Shah is a I/O Psych major at the University of Maryland Baltimore County; and a graduate (June 2009)of the International Baccalaureate program at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. After college, Imran hopes to work as a business consultant in the field of I/O Psychology. His objective is to help bring to life the visions of those that cannot do it themselves. He is also a member of the Society for Industrial & Organizational Psychology as a Student Affiliate. Once Imran has gained success in this area of psychology by truly mastering his art; he wishes to try Sports Psychology. Imran is a huge fan of football and would therefore enjoy working in the realm of athletics.
Other than psychology, Imran is interested in philosophy; he has always enjoyed having conversations about religion, God, and life in general. He has taken classes in high school that taught him to think critically about the world and knowledge in itself; he hopes to take several philosophy courses at UMBC as well to expand his understanding. Several of his writing samples are available on this blog. As of right now, Imran is in the process of considering a minor is philosophy; to help him become better as a consultant. There are many skills in both fields (I/O Psych and Philosophy) that overlap and are good to have.
Imran is very involved in school activities; participating in not only athletic teams, but a number of academic and social groups aswell. Imran ran cross-country and played tennis in high school; and now plays flag football at UMBC. Imran is also a member of the MSA (Muslim Student Association). Imran does not limit himself to his school life only, in his free time he can be found enjoying an entertaining tv show, playing football or basketball with a group of friends, or just be somewhere chilling with a group of friends (usually with food :))
